Robert J. Jackan, 62, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his home in the Town of Grant, Portage County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids with Rev. Valentine Joseph officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church. Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, is assisting the family.
Robert was born on January 27, 1953 along with his twin brother, Ronald in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Dominic and Kathryn (Hamm) Jackan. He attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parochial School and was a 1972 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was united in marriage to Jane M. Bretl on June 26, 1999 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.
During High School and after his education Bob was employed at Warehouse Specialists in Wisconsin Rapids. He then became employed at 3M Corporation in Nekoosa, which later became Nekoosa Coated Products, where he worked for 43 years, retiring in 2014.
Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada with his friends. He also enjoyed the Green Bay Packers. He was a gentle loving man and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jane and stepchildren, Brooke (Jake) Porter and Alex (Michelle) Bretl, all of Wisconsin Rapids. He is also survived by grandchildren, Nathaniel and Justin Porter and Alivia, Caleb, Maverick and Mackenzie Bretl. He is further survived by his father, Dominic of King, a sister, Susan Jackan and her husband Carl Leiterman, of Madison, brothers, Richard (Rhonda) Jackan, his twin, Ronald (Wendy) Jackan, and Michael Jackan, all of Wisconsin Rapids and Gregory (Tami) Jackan of Marshfield. He is further survived by 10 nieces and nephews and his special canine friend, Sophie.
In lieu of flowers the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
He was predeceased by his mother.
