Robert M. Brooks entered eternal life on June 6th 2015 after a courageous battle with numerous health problems. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Dr. Kevin Buchanan officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery and Robert's sons will serve as pallbearers and his daughters as honorary pallbearers. The visitation will be held on from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 10:00 am on Monday until service time at the First Presbyterian Church. Robert was born on June 21st, 1927 in Hawkeye, Iowa to Catherine Ann (Mihm) and William Perry Brooks. He moved with his family at the age of 13 from Iowa to Wisconsin. He later moved back to Iowa to work at his first job at Oliver Tractor Plant. After some time, Robert moved back to Wisconsin to be close to his parents where he met his first wife Beverly P. Wolff. Robert and Beverly were married on September 19th, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Robert worked numerous farming jobs before going to Weinbrenner Shoe Factory. He also worked at Johns Manville Insulation Manufacturer as a warehouse supervisor where he worked until he retired in 1994. Robert worked for 19 years at a job he truly loved being a Medical van driver at Comfort Carriers of Medford. He lost his first wife Beverly after 39 years of marriage and four children. He then married Therese R. Nikolai on February 14, 1987 at St John's church in Marshfield. Robert and Therese also have four children. He is survived by his loving wife Therese of Marshfield, one brother Virgil of Auburndale, one sister Betty Hendrickson of Ferryville, WI, his son Martin (Pinny) of Marshfield, Phillip (Jennifer) of Palm Harbor, FL., Timothy (Virginia) of Amherst, Melanie (Dean) Altmann of Junction City, WI, Danielle of Sheboygan, WI, Christopher (fiance Jennifer Krokstrom) of Marshfield, Corey (Valerie) of Chippewa Falls, WI, Cody (girlfriend Sarah Hirner) of Denver, Colorado, his special mother-in-law and caretaker Eleanore M. Nikolai of Marshfield and his two special furry friends Molly and Wendy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael (Kathy) Brooks of Marshfield, Amber (Bill) McElhose of Ontario, WI., Casey (Peter) Gault of Breckenridge, MN., Derek, Katelyn, and Dana Altmann of Junction City, WI., Nathan Brooks of Palm Harbor, Fl., his great-grandchildren, James Peretti of Marshfield, Courtney, Zander and Keith Brooks of Marshfield and Katherine and Christian McElhose of Ontario, WI.. He was preceded in death by his first wife Beverly, a brother Eddie, sisters Fern Yeager and Florence Truslow and two grandchildren Jason Brooks and Kadine Brooks.
