Robert A. Murphy, 82, Stratford, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Marshfield Medical Center. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford. Robert was born on December 30, 1938 in Cincinnati, OH, to Daniel Edward and Mary Martha (Turner) Murphy. He married Beverly D. Jakeway on September 16, 1961 in Covington, KY. Bob had been a Minor League Baseball player and an avid golfer. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Bev and their children, Coleen (Patrick) Bean of Stratford, Brian (Mary) Murphy of Richmond, KY, Cathleen (Edward) Newburry of Stratford and Beth Murphy of Athens and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Murphy of Marshfield. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Sue Ann (John) Forthuber of Cincinnati and a brother, Mike Murphy (Kate) of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kevin and two brothers, Jack and Richard.
