Obituary

Rita Mae Schonfeldt, 96, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Three Oaks Health Services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rita was born on January 25, 1925 in Marshfield to Urban and Gertrude (Wiltgen) Herman. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School and was united in marriage to Arthur F. Schonfeldt on January 30, 1943 in Bremerton, Washington. Rita worked at Roddis Manufacturing, Mid-State Oil, Marshfield Clinic, and DeBoer Trucking. She was a member of the Marshfield Saddle Club, and her hobbies included playing cards at the Senior Center, playing Aggravation with her family, and traveling to Arizona each October-April. She is survived by her five children, Judy (Norman) Katzenberger of Vesper, Sharon Thomas of Wittenberg, Patricia (Dennis) Conrad of Arpin and William Schonfeldt and Linda Schonfeldt, both of Marshfield; 10 grandchildren, John Katzenberger, Bradley (Tammy) Thomas, Scott (Sarah) Conrad, Jeffrey (Sheryl) Katzenberger, William (Amy) Thomas, Shawn (Kris) Conrad, Heather (Thomas) Campbell, Jared (Melissa) Katzenberger, Adam (Trish) Schonfeldt and Tracy Schonfeldt; and 21 great grandchildren, Matthew, Jase, and Myah Katzenberger, Matthew, Katie, William Conrad, Shawna, Brittni, Austin, Bradyn Conrad, Hannah, Alisun, Tyler, Sammie Jo, and Adam Thomas, Bella and Ruby Campbell, Taylor, Cooper, Parker Schonfeldt, and Aaliyah Borchardt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Schonfeldt, one great grandson, two great-granddaughters, and brother, Gerald Herman.
