Rita A. Ploen, 87, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at her home. Per Rita's request there will be no public services. Rita was born on October 12, 1930 in the town of Richfield, Wood County to Louis and Frances (Schmidl) Neuman. She married Robert Ploen at St. John's Catholic Church September 12, 1953. He sadly passed December 31, 1990. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1948 and was employed as a receptionist and bookkeeper with various Marshfield businesses for many years. Rita was an avid do-it-yourselfer. She and her husband, Bob, took pride in the three homes they built in Marshfield over the years. She loved choral music and enjoyed singing with the local Palm Sunday concerts. Besides being a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Rita was an excellent seamstress, enthusiastic card player, and ardent animal lover. Her passion was feeding the birds and squirrels in her backyard. Rita is survived by her daughters Sandy; (Mark) Christensen of Chanhassen MN, Kris (Dennis) Oliver of Janesville, WI; a son; Rick (Becky) Ploen of Lino Lakes, MN; grandchildren: Michael, Sarah, Jennifer, Julia, Derek, and Dylan.
