Rita M. Hardinger, 77, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt, with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Rita was born on March 6, 1938 in Rozellville to Leo and Elsie (Schultz) Brost and was a graduate of Columbus High School, Marshfield. She was united in marriage to Floyd F. Hardinger on April 30, 1960 in Marshfield. He died on July 8, 2005.
Rita was employed at the Marshfield Clinic for 22 years and then at Marshfield Insurance until her retirement in 2013. She enjoyed spending time her family and friends, shopping, traveling and attending her grandchildren's events. She had a strong Christian Faith.
She is survived by her children, Janie Frazar of Whitefish, Montana, Dawn (Peter) Severt, Tom (Tammy) Hardinger, all of Marshfield, and Gail (David) Orchard of Green Bay. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary Kopf, Chelsea Severt, Luke, Katie, Sam, Will and Jake Hardinger and a great grandchild Brodi Kopf. She is further survived by a brother, Jerome (Barbara) Brost.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers, Vernon and Roman Brost and a sister, Marion Thurs.
The family will designate a memorial in her name at a later date.
