Richard E. Siemers, 71, died of cardiac arrest at Marshfield Medical Center on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Marshfield. He had recently been receiving care at The Homeplace in Dorchester. The family is grateful to the staff for their compassionate care of Richard. Richard was born on April 2, 1950 into a life of challenges. He was the son of Eldor and Marcella (Harsch) Siemers. He worked though his disabilities by becoming a bookkeeper followed by employment at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. In his later years he was "The Pizza Guy" at the Marshfield Pizza Hut until his retirement in 2015. He grew up as the fourth child in a family of seven. Surviving members of the Siemers family are his daughter Allison Fait, brothers Dale (Donna), Don, Jeff, and sister Susan Bymers. He is also survived by his long-time companion Linda Vandehey. Preceding him in death were his parents as well as siblings Linda Dunse and Beverly Jirschele. He was a gentle soul among us. He will be missed. Funeral plans are private at this time.
