Richard C. Mech, 68, Marshfield, died on Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Emergency Room of Marshfield Medical Center. There will be no public visitation or service. Entombment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Richard was born on March 14, 1949 in Marshfield to Henry and Marian (Roggenbauer) Mech and was a 1967 graduate of Columbus High School. He also attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee and obtained his cosmetology license in 1983. Richard had owned and operated a restaurant in Neillsville and later worked as a cook in Arizona. He liked cooking, classic country music and enjoyed living in Arizona, especially when the cacti were blooming. He also was very fond of his cat Bayo Wolf. Richard married Winnifred Johnson on June 19, 1982 at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield. She died on October 24, 2009. He is survived by a stepson, Kenneth (Ann) Johnson of Sheboygan Falls, a granddaughter, Heather (T. Jay) Bernhardt of New Holstein, step great granddaughters, Alysha, Paige and Sydnee, a brother Kenneth Mech of Marshfield a niece, Kendra (Kevin) Soczka of Edgar and great nieces, Natalie and Alyssa Soczka.
