Obituary

Richard A. Masephol, 61 of Chili died on Sunday evening May 3, 2015 at University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago, IL Family will receive relatives and friends from1:30pm-5:30pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Rembs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Yolo Cemetery in Chili. Dick was born on March 25, 1954 in Neillsville to Emil and Edna (Prust) Masephol and graduated from Granton High School in 1972. He was united in marriage to Mary Walter and later divorced. Dick built his home in 1996 where he spent most of his free time working, building, and creating for what it is today. Anyone who stopped by also knew they could also find him holding down his chair while talking on the phone and drinking coffee. Dick loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and making wood. He also enjoyed wood-working and welding. He was very good at designing and inventing things around the home. He also liked canning and trying new recipes. Dick looked forward to cutting up meat with the Prusts every year. Dick was an AA member for many years. Dick enjoyed talking to others, whether it was on the phone or at a family cook-out. Dick's sense of humor was one of a kind. He would wear Viking attire (or Packer attire while in Chicago) just to get a rise or smirk out of someone. He would often go back and forth pranking friends and family members. He was a very caring person who was always willing to help a friend in need. A later passion in life was his outdoor cameras. He loved getting them from the woods to see what was on them. He would later print off the photos to bring into work to show off the prize buck he would shoot later that fall, or simply to show the many forest creatures. He was employed at Weyerhaeuser Company for 41 years before retiring because his battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter Katrina Masephol (Jason Karl) of Rozellville, his girlfriend of many wonderful years, Eileen Brandt of Arpin, her daughter DanI Brandt and granddaughters Tianna and Ciera Brandt of Marshfield. He is also survived by his mother Edna Masephol of Marshfield and two sisters Irene Martens of Wisconsin Rapids and Karen (Roy) Hoff of Altoona; nieces April, Tiffany, Renee and nephew Sonny.
