Richard G. "Dick" Derfus, 78, died on Monday, July 18, 2011 in the emergency room of Ministry St. Josephs Hospital. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home where there will be a service held at 7:00 pm. Richard was born on March 27, 1933 in Marshfield, to Alex and Anna Marie (Kiesling) Derfus. He married Ginny Schmitbauer in 1952 and they divorced. He later married Bernadine Henninger in 1971 and they divorced. Dick had farmed for many years and was a milk hauler. He also delivered Bunny Bread and most recently had been employed for Abby Vans, transporting the disabled. He enjoyed playing cards and polka music. He is survived by four children, Cheryl Derfus and Kevin (Mary) Derfus, all of Marshfield, Richelle Derfus of North Liberty, Iowa, and Derrick (Raven) Derfus of Victoria, Minnesota. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Leah (Darin), Summer, Kjersti, Oak, and Unity "Georgie". He is further survived by a brother, Donald (Rachel) Derfus of Marshfield and a sister, Shirley Debevec of Pittsville. He was predeceased by his parents. The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
