Obituary

Richard “Dick” D. Harriman, 66, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Town of Richfield, Wood County.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12 and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Wednesday, all at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield.

Dick was born on July 27, 1959 in Neillsville to Corliss “Corky” and Carol “Fuzzy” (Nelson) Harriman. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1978.

Dick started working at 12 - helping his uncles on the farm. Then he worked at the post office. He worked at Automated Products starting in 1978, then went to Marshfield Homes (Wicks) in the mid 80’s and worked there until 1998. During all of that he was “the jack of all trades,” helping everybody he could with any & all projects—roofing, concrete, siding—he could fix it all outdoors & in. He also worked at Marshfield Monument & Rogers Cinema, and many of us were treated with movie theater popcorn.

He enjoyed softball, bowling, camping, hunting, horseshoes, singing, dancing—whatever shenanigans were happening, he was always there with bells on, ready to party, offer an ear, with a big smile & the warmest, most sincere hugs, and gave us all so much love that he never made us earn.

The greatest love story started when he was 13 and Janice Gadke was 12, the love of his life. They married on April 12, 1980 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Together they created a family with 4 beautiful children and 5 grandchildren. Family was the most important and precious thing in his life. He was everybody’s somebody—brother Dick, dad, grandpa, Pa Harriman, husband, Uncle Dick, “The Man, The Myth, The Legend.”

He is survived by his wife, Janice, children, Sara Strasser (Cory), Erin Harriman, Mark Harriman (Chelsie), grandchildren, Chloe Strasser, Sarina Strasser, Tyrone Harriman, Aryena Nunnery, Liam Harriman

He is further survived by his brothers, Tom Harriman (Jody) and Gary Harriman, and brothers and sisters in law, Gail (Dave) Butler, Ed (Karen) Gadke, Paula (Mike) Rottscheit, Myron Gadke (Judy), Mark (Paula) Gadke, and Terry (Renee) Schultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Adam Harriman, brothers in law, Roger Schultz and Bruce Schultz, sisters in law, Diane Doescher and Luann Schulz, mother in law Birdie Gadke, and father in law Ken Gadke.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marshfield Medical Center - 8 North, 3 Wishes Program, Compassus Hospice Care, Palliative Care, and all of those who have loved & supported Dick through it all.
