IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard "Dick"
Aschenbrenner
June 13, 1937 – January 28, 2025
Richard "Dick" Aschenbrenner, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Copperleaf Assisted Living of Marathon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Richard was born on June 13, 1937, in Auburndale, to Fred and Kathryn (Scholler) Aschenbrenner, and was a 1956 graduate of Auburndale High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Delia C. Langston on July 4, 1959, in Newton Grove, North Carolina, after courting her for approximately two weeks. They were married nearly 64 years until she passed away on May 8, 2023.
Growing up, and as a young man, Dick worked on the family farm. He then became employed at Consolidated Papers, Biron Division, beginning as a laborer, then as a Research and Development Printing Technician, and later as Environmental Technician. He retired in 1997 after 37 years with CPI.
Dick loved being a catcher on many different baseball teams, including in the service and for several city leagues. He loved to moose hunt, fish with his son, Scott, as well as other family and friends. His early farming days evolved into a passion for gardening and woodworking in his workshop. After retirement, he and Delia treasured more than 25 years at their home on the Chain of Lakes in Phillips, where they spent much of their time playing golf, sitting on their deck, or on the water.
He is survived by his children, Mary Alice Sieczka, Scott (Linda) Aschenbrenner and Connie (Cory) Mayer and three grandchildren, James Sieczka, Alexander Hackman, and Nicklaus Mayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Fred Aschenbrenner and sisters, Betty Baltus, and Shirley Lindow.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to an animal / dog rescue of the donor's choice
