Obituary

Richard A. Oldenburg, 87, Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Marshfield Health Services.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield with Reverend Andrew Belt officiating. Entombment will follow at McMillan Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Town of McMillan, Marathon County with grandchildren, Chad, Travis, Ryan, Troy, Amber, and Patrick serving as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 15 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 10:00 am until service time on Friday at Christ Lutheran Church.

Richard was born on November 21, 1938 in Sheboygan to Milton and Mabel (Panzer) Oldenburg. He graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan. He married Jean Hempleman on May 1, 1970 in Gurnie, Illinois.

Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, socializing with his church family, camping, baking, car shows, traveling, and model trains. He was also an avid Packers fan and a member of the Eagles Club in Sheboygan, WI. In 1969, Richard opened Burger Chef in Marshfield and was the proud, independent business owner of Amway for over 50 years.

He is survived by his six children, Kimberly (Mike) Nowak of Plover, Jim (Patty) Schultze of Marshfield, Sharon Schultze of Marshfield, Brenda (Mark) Linzmeier of Stratford, Richard (Pam) Hempleman of Thorp, and Ricky Kauger of Sheboygan, and 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.

He is further survived by his sister, Sharon Duplechain of Sheboygan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mabel, wife, Jean, daughter, Karen, son, Jerry, and brothers, Raymond and Roman.
