Regina H. Beranek, 86, Milladore, died surrounded by family on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore, with Rev. John Ofori-Domah officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and from 10:00 am until service time at St. Wenceslaus Church.
Regina was born on September 27, 1929 in Stevens Point to Joseph and Mary Szymanski. She was united in marriage to Joseph J. Beranek on November 23, 1953 at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Mill Creek. He died on June 11, 2015.
Regina's life was busy raising 4 girls and dairy farming. She was well known for her chicken eggs and her famous poppyseed kolaches. She loved putting jigsaw puzzles together on cold winter days and gardening in the warm summer months. She grew flowers for their beauty and a huge vegetable garden for food. She would do word searches and watch Wheel of Fortune every evening. She especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Recently she spent her time enjoying the new farm house.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Tom) Wahl of Eland, Anne (Fred) Simons II, of Stevens Point, Betty (Tom) Hoffman of Milladore and Theresa (Jim) Gibson of Pardeeville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Becky (Nick) Scherer, Fred (Amanda) Simons III, Kate (Jordan) Wojtalewicz, Andrew (Amy) Simons, Jedidiah Simons, Josh Wahl, Cody Hoffman, Melissa Hoffman and Brittany Hoffman and 7 great grandchildren, Dominic, Isaac, Samuel, Abigail, Caroline, Ashlyn and Asher and one expected in February. She is further survived by a brother, Frank (Millie) Szymanski of Stevens Point and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Szymanski of Stevens Point, Audrey Szymanski of Rudolph, Rita Esser of Arpin and Rosie Beranek of Rudolph.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers, Stanley, Walter, John, Tony and Joseph and sisters, Rose Kiran and Anna Sobczak.
