Raymond B. Lutz, 88 of Marshfield died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Stoney River Assisted Living in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Thursday, February 23, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Samuel Martin officiating. St. John's Funeral choir will provide the music. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hewitt. Visitations will be from 4-7pm Wednesday at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Thursday at the church form 9:30am until time of service. Ray was born January 13, 1924 in the town of Auburndale, Wood County to Herbert and Pauline (Kohlbeck) Lutz. In his younger years, Ray helped on area farms. He worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield in the sole department for many years. He then worked at the Hotel Charles, Miracle Ear and finally JC Penney's in the old store and then at the Northway Mall. During this time, he tended bar at various taverns in the area. Ray is survived by four sisters, Silvagean (James) Harris and Donna Jacobs both of Brookport, IL; Jean Apfel of Chippewa Falls and Carol (David) Elliott of Bloomington, MN. and a brother Leon Lutz of Marshfield. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by four brothers James, Merril, Elmer and Eugene Lutz; four sisters, Lucy Jones, Arlene Anderson, Arvilla Ploog and Silvia Leonard. Memorials may be designated to the Ministry Home Hospice Care.
