Raymond C. Bandle, 93 of Stratford died on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Northside Elder Estates in Stratford.
Funeral services will be 11am Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church (High Steeple on Huckleberry Road) with Pastor Jeffrey A. Lambrecht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with his grandsons and godsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitations will be from 9:30am Monday at the church until time of service.
Ray was born on December 23, 1920 in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County to Louis and Dora (Lueschow) Bandle. He attended Fairchild School in the Town of Frankfort.
He was united in marriage to Genevieve E. Borchardt on June 5, 1943 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Edgar. Ray hauled milk for Huebner Cheese Factory after they were married. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Town of Frankfort for 50 years, retiring in 1993. They continued to live on the farm until moving to the Village of Stratford in 1999.
Ray was Town of Frankfort supervisor for 33 years, and a member of ASCS of Marathon County for three decades. Ray was baptized, confirmed and was past president of St. John's Lutheran Church. He and other members of the church were instrumental in starting a dart ball league. Ray was a founding member of the Frankfort Freedom Riders Snowmobile Club.
Ray is survived by his wife Genevieve of Stratford, two daughters Carol Jean (Gary) Stengl of Wausau and Sandra Rae (John) Schafer of Edgar; six grandchildren, Robb (Christy)Stengl, Rick (Faith) Stengl and Ryan Stengl, Nikandra (fiancée, Matthew Glause) Schafer, Matthew, and Maryn Schafer. He is further survived by four great grandchildren, Noah, Benna, Lily and Will Stengl.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Woehlert and Ruth Bandle.
