Randall Ray "Sambo" Pierce, 51, Pittsville, died early Saturday morning, July 27, 2013 at his home. The family will receive relatives and friends at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A private family memorial service will be held on Tuesday. Randy was born on August 5, 1961 in Wisconsin Rapids, to Clarence and Geraldine (Crabb) Pierce and was a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School. He married Sarah Wolfe in 1992 and they later divorced. He married Laurie Sloan on March 28, 2013 in Wisconsin Rapids. Randy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge he worked as a cook at Wranglers and at the Mead Inn, both in Wisconsin Rapids. He also worked as a roofer in Wisconsin Rapids and Colorado, and on a pipeline in Oklahoma. For the past 13 years he was employed at Pittsville Meats. Randy was in a pool league in Pittsville and enjoyed Karaoke, bike riding, and Frisbee. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Laurie, 2 children, Connor and Kayla Pierce, all of Pittsville, 2 stepchildren, Stacy (Daniel) Draves of Baraboo and Carol Sloan of Pittsville and 3 step grandchildren, Keegan, Keira and Allison. He is also survived by his mother, Geraldine Pierce of Wisconsin Rapids, 5 brothers and 2 sisters, Geraldine Schunke of Pittsville, Lawrence Pierce of Milwaukee, Jeff Pierce of Dubuque, IA, Tom (Stephanie) Pierce, Mike (Holly) Pierce, Pam (Scott) Dieringer, and Dennis (Shana Brey) Pierce, all of Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by 13 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2008. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family are appreciated.
