Obituary

Philip L. Lobner, 92 of Auburndale died on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the House of The Dove in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale with Fr. Peter Raj officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Alan Lobner, Don Weiler, Ricky Richardson, Larry Retzlaff, Julius Linzmeier and Lawrence Fochs as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike and Denny Richardson, Ron and Bev Heikinnen, Terry and Pat Haubert, Ken Strobel and Cliff Hermanson. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post # 468 of Milladore. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on from 10:00 am at the church until service time. Philip was born on August 3, 1919 in town of Milladore to Joseph and Catherine (Grassel) Lobner. He attended school at St. Kilian's in Blenker before entering the United States Army. He served from March 16, 1945 until his honorable discharge on March 1, 1946. Prior to entering the US Army, he was united in marriage to Lucile K. Weiler on June 14, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. Lucile died on November 14, 2005. Philip farmed in the Auburndale area until 1976. While farming, he sold silos and feed handling equipment. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, working in the woods and nature. In 1981, they moved to Prentice then returned to Blenker in 2004. While in Prentice, he was a member of the American Legion Post of Prentice. Philip is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Bruener of Port Edwards and Adeline (William) Weber of Gibsonston, FL; and a two sisters-in-law Henrietta Lobner of Auburndale and Betty Lobner of Cherry Valley, IL along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roman, Edward, Harold, Richard, Edmund, Wolfgang and Wilfred Lobner and a sister, Irene Pfiefer.
