Peter G. Berdan, 99, Auburndale, died on Friday, July 1, 2016 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am until service time on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Peter was born on January 21, 1917 in Auburndale to George and Mary (Haffenbredl) Berdan and attended St. Mary's Parochial School in Auburndale. Pete had farmed in the Town of Auburndale his entire life. He also worked in the woods, logging for many years. He was a volunteer fireman in the Town of Auburndale when it began in 1965. He served on the Auburndale Village Board, the Marshfield Market Sale Committee, and was a charter member of the Auburndale F.F.A. Alumni. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took many fishing trips to Canada for over 50 years. He also enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He is survived by 3 children, Patricia Schetski of Phillips, Peter Berdan, Jr. and James (Carol) Berdan, all of Auburndale. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, a twin daughter, Marie in infancy, a daughter, Janice Shelly, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
