Paul D. Williams
Heaven gained another angel on Friday April 1st as our husband, father, grandfather and father in law Paul Darwin Williams, 81 of Nekoosa, WI lost his long hard battle against Multiple Myeloma Cancer and Congestive Heart Failure.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Arlene (Stubbs) Williams, son Kevin (Peggy) Williams, Waukesha, WI, son Keith Williams, Elkhorn, WI, daughter Kari (Udell) Williams-Passehl, Marathon, WI, granddaughters Kimberly Williams, Chelsea Briere, April Williams, Taylor Williams, grandson KJ Williams, brothers Everett (Marlene) Williams, John (Joyce) Williams, sisters Ellen (Elza) Manteau, Robyn Allen (David Meyers), sister-in-law Carole Williams and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was born in Genesee, WI and grew up in Genesee Depot, WI attending Magee Grade School and Waukesha High School graduating in 1953. Paul went on to serve our country four years in the Navy reserves and four years in the Army, two active serving in Korea and two years in the reserves.
In his early adulthood, Paul and his bride Arlene moved to Eagle, WI where he enjoyed playing softball and Land O'Lakes hardball as well as bowling and horseshoes. Paul also enjoyed and was an avid dancer of any and all styles of dance.
Once his beloved children arrived, Paul was very active in his community. He was a proud member of the Eagle Volunteer Fire Department and the Eagle Lions Club, where he held every officers position. With the love of his children he went on to coach Eagle Little League baseball and was Scout Club Master for the Eagle Cub Scouts and Weblo's.
After retiring from Borden's Dairy in West Allis, WI he and his bride retired to their home on Lake Camelot, Nekoosa, WI. Paul helped occupy his retirement time working part time jobs with the Lake Camelot Property Owners Association, Town of Rome, Tri-Lakes and Rome Water.
Enjoying retirement, you would often find Paul with his beloved dog Bandit by his side. He loved entertaining friends and family at the lake, playing cards, feeding the birds, and all these years later still playing horseshoes and bowling. He also loved traveling with friends and family and was proud to say he had visited all 50 states and many countries. A few of his favorites were his trips to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean. On Sunday afternoon's you would often find Paul and his wife at a dance in the area as they belonged to two different dance clubs in Adams County. His most recent trip taken with his son-in-law as guardian that he was extremely proud of was the Never Forgotten Honor Flight #17 to Washington DC on September 8, 2014.
Paul was a true supporter of Wisconsin sports and made sure to follow the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Caroline (Knoebel) Williams, mother and father in-law Ervin and Mae (Fardy) Stubbs, sisters Geraldine Schuyler, Helen Bralick, brother Dennis Williams, nephews Jeffrey Williams and Anthony Bralick.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life with a luncheon to follow, will be held Saturday, April 30th at the Wales-Genesee Lions Club, S42 W31400 State Road 83, Genesee Depot, WI from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
