Obituary

Paul G. Spatz Paul G. Spatz, 87, of Auburndale, died peacefully Sunday, August 11, 2013, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale with the Rev. Barnabas Kyeah officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews Lucille Schill, Jean Pumper, Paul Severt, Ronald Spatz, John T. Specht, and Paul Haffenbredl. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. He was born on May 11, 1926, to William R. and Elizabeth R. (Seidl) Spatz in Schofield. Shortly after, his family settled in Auburndale. He attended White Oak country school. He spent his entire life in Auburndale except for the cumulative year that he lived at deer camp in Tripoli. He was united in marriage to Eulalia (Jane) Beaver on October 22, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Paul started working for the local feed mill in 1944, and managed feed mills in the Auburndale area for over 45 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Christ the King Council #4646 of Junction City, the Holy Name Society, and the Auburndale Village Board. He was a charter member and assistant chief of the Auburndale Joint Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and berry picking. Paul is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Sue (Paul) Spatz Boehning of Marshfield, son, John (Elaine) Spatz of Auburndale, 4 grandchildren Jordan Spatz, Steven Boehning, Rebecca Boehning, and Marissa Spatz. He is further survived by two brothers, Peter Spatz of Wisconsin Dells;, LeRoy (Dorothy) Spatz of Sheboygan Falls; a sister Annette (Peter) Beaver of Milladore; a sister-in-law Roslyn Spatz of Loyal. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Eleanor Severt, and brother Charles Spatz. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
