Paul was born on December 26, 1927 in the Town of Rock, Wood County, to Albert and Emma (Engelke) Bredemann. He was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He was united in marriage to Violet E. Trachte on September 28, 1949 in Marshfield. He had farmed most of his life and also started his own construction business which he later sold to his son, Kenneth. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, had served as church chairman and served many years on the church board and on the building committee for the new church. He also served as Wood County Supervisor and on the Central Wisconsin Fair Board. Being the chairman for the Town of Rock was a privilege and honor for Paul. He reluctantly had to give up that role in May when he became ill. One of his favorite pastimes was joining the guys every morning for coffee at the Lindsey store. Paul was also an avid sheepshead player and could be seen many nights of the week playing at local establishments. Family gatherings would always include a deck of cards with the children and grandchildren quickly falling into his footsteps. Paul enjoyed polka music and loved to see how fast he could swing his daughters around on the dance floor at family weddings. Paul and Violet enjoyed dancing and were active in a square dancing club for many years. Paul is lovingly survived by his wife, Violet and their children, Barb Jacobson, Caledonia, MN, Ron (Connie) Bredemann, Hewitt, Bev (Tony) Shookman, Marshfield, Karen (Greg) Shookman, Green Bay, Kathy (Duane) Meidl, Pam (Mike) Holubets, Patti (Rich) Coffren, all of Marshfield, Cheryl (John) Weister of Oconto Falls and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Bredemann of Marshfield. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers and sisters, Delvan (Janice) Bredemann, Racine, Ruth (Jerry Lindsay) Fox, Wisconsin Rapids, Charles (Sharon) Bredemann, Marshfield, Joyce (Bud Saverda) Rasmussen, Marshfield, and two sisters-in-law, Joann Bredemann of Holmen and Jean Bredemann of Chili. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Bredemann in 2003, a son-in-law, Robert Jacobson in 2011, and brothers Henry Bredemann in 1998 and Lyle Bredemann in 2008. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Dr. Claessens, and the staffs of Marshfield Care Center and the House of the Dove for the special care that was given to Paul.
