Obituary

Paul F. Blemings, 87, Town of Richfield, passed away on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center as the music therapist sang Amazing Grace.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Deacon Ray Draeger officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Following the funeral services full Military Honors will be conducted by The U.S. Army and will take place at the funeral home. The funeral service will be livestreamed at https://www.rembsfh.com/facebook-livestream/facebook-livestream.

Paul Blemings was born October 11, 1937, in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, to John Willard Blemings and Helen Marie (Lahey) Blemings. He married Joyce Irene McKale on February 23rd, 1963, in Clifton Heights Pennsylvania, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and shared adventures.

Paul proudly dedicated 33 years to service in the United States Army, exemplifying an unwavering commitment to duty and honor. He enlisted on October 15, 1954, and served with distinction until his honorable discharge in 1987, achieving the rank of Captain.

Paul was an avid reader with a special fondness for Western novels, Paul also had a deep love for sports. A passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, he was overjoyed to witness their Super Bowl victory. His enthusiasm extended to baseball, where he faithfully cheered for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Among his cherished achievements was making a hole-in-one on October 29, 2007, at the Marshfield Country Club—a dream realized. Another unforgettable milestone came on April 21, 2012, when he experienced the thrill of skydiving alongside his two grandchildren.

In his retirement, Paul embraced the opportunity to explore the world, traveling to the United Kingdom and Germany. However, his greatest joy came from his family. Paul adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in the individuals they have become. His love for them was boundless, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Paul is survived by his wife Joyce Blemings, his daughter Kym (Terry) Zillmer, town of Richfield, grandchildren, Terry (Amber) L. Zillmer Jr., of Chippewa Falls, WI, Paul (Erinn) Zillmer, of Chippewa Falls WI , Dustin (Ashley) Zillmer, of Marshfield and Sean (Jakrista Roetzel) Zillmer, Town of Richfield. Great-grandchildren, Mackenna, Blake, Alyah, Alaric and Olivia.

He is further survived by his brother and sister-in-law George and Theresa McKale of Springfield Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents John Blemings and Helen Alexander and his siblings John (Jack) Blemings, Robert Blemings, William Blemings, Phillip Blemings, Thomas James Blemings, Helen Marie Yarosz, Ann (Nancy) Weaver, and Mary Elizabeth Haley.
