Orpha E. Wiesman, age 92, Stratford, died on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Miller Alternative Care, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Rev. Sue Eidahl will officiate and Judy Polege will be the organist for congregational singing. Paul Drexler will provide special music. Burial will take place in Fenwood Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until service time, all at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, is assisting the family. Orpha was born on December 11, 1918 in the Town of Wien, the daughter of Paul and Agnes (Borchardt) Mueller. She attended Lamont School in the Town of Wien. After her graduation she continued to help on the family farm until her marriage to Edwin W. Wiesman on May 1, 1947. The couple then assumed operation of Edwins home farm in the Town of Cleveland, where they farmed for thirty five years, retiring in April of 1982. They continued to reside in the Town of Cleveland until Edwins death on March 6, 1984. Orpha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford and a member of the former St. Peters Lutheran Church, Fenwood where she had been a Sunday school teacher and treasurer for many years. She also had been a member of St. Peters Ladies Aid, holding several offices, the Stratford Homemakers Club and had worked part time at the Cattlemans Club restaurant, Equity building for a number of years. She is survived by her children, Merlin (Veronica) Wiesman of Fenwood, Nancy (Tommy) Schoenherr and Larry (Nancy) Wiesman, all of Stratford and Leroy (Lori) Wiesman of Edgar. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren who especially enjoyed Orphas cookies, Tim (Kari) Schoenherr and their children, Dylan and Dalton; Tadd (Janet) Schoenherr and their children, Jeremy and Justin; Troy (Shae) Wiesman and their children, Lauryn and Alexis; Alan (Wendy) Wiesman and their children, Allison and Hailey; Michelle (Troy) Multerer and their children, Connor and Isabelle; Mike Wiesman and his children, Kendra and Kailey; Jim (Cory) Wiesman and their son, Cooper; Tracy (Luke) Stanek; and Kati Jo Wiesman. She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers and sisters, Edwin, Paul, Edward, Edna, Henrietta, Adeline and Edith. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Miller Alternative Care for the loving care that was given to Orpha.
