Norman Lawrence Pankratz Jr., 76 of Marshfield died on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield where a visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Burial will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with meal to follow at Town of Rock Hall. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Norman was born on May 10, 1941 in Wood County to Norman and Cecilia (Hokamp) Pankratz. He graduated from Pittsville High School in the class of 1959. He was a veteran of the United States Army SP4 E-4(P), of the 497th Engr. Co. during to the Vietnam War from 1963-65. He was united in marriage to Jennie S. Folyer on August 7, 1971. After high school Norm managed a Clark gas station in Green Bay until he was drafted. After honorable discharge, Norm hauled gas and fuel for Marshfield Oil. Later he dairy farmed, hauled sand and gravel and hauled cattle for Mid-West Livestock and Equity. Norman loved telling his children and grandchildren stories about his two workhorses Barney and Dick along with tales of Sheeny Cats and the Headless Horsman. He enjoyed singing Battle of New Orleans and short little songs to his family. He also enjoyed cooking a good meal, hunting and collecting guns and tractors. He liked flying and always wanted his own airplane, but never pursued that dream. Norman is survived by his wife Jennie and his children Cole (Theresa) Pankratz, Linda (Jeff) Jagodinski, Kathy (Michael) Brooks, Jodi Pankratz, and stepchildren Diana (Glen) Drexler, and Laurie LaSee. His is also survived by his grandchildren Luke Pankratz, Collin and Colton Jaecks, Courtney, Zander, and Keith Brooks, Brian, Jesse, and Roni Drexler, and great grandchildren Alyssa, Andrew, and Ethan Drexler. He is further survived by brother Frank Pankratz and sisters Ella Mae Grandt, Cecilia (John) Abel, Betty Lou Ahles, Joann (Jim) Dieringer, Kathy (Edward) Kolb, and Linda (William) Kolb. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Pankratz, stepson Scott Sparks, and brother-in-law Richard Gandt. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
