Norman W. "Norm" Tritz, 90, of Marshfield died 11/11/11 at the Marshfield Care Center, from complications of Lewy Body Disease. Norm was born 3/20/21 to Benedict and Susan (Thielen) Tritz in Pittsville, WI. He was educated at Pleasant Corners School and graduated from St. Joachims school in Pittsville. He also attended the vocational school in Wisconsin Rapids. He initially worked for the Pittsville Pottery. He then worked for Felker Bros. Mfg Co. in Marshfield for 44 years, retiring in 1985. He also taught at the Mid-State Technical College for many years. Norm married Loretta Wenzel on 6/21/45 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Stratford. In addition to spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Norm also enjoyed hunting, music and spending time at the cabin. He was a lifelong environmentalist and well known for his sense of humor and kind heart. He was a former president of the St. Johns Holy Name Society, former charter member of St. Johns and the Diocesan Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Programs, a leader in the Christian Family Movement and a member of the Boilermaker Union #697, St. Johns adult church choir for over 70 years and St. Johns Funeral Choir for many years. He was also an active member of the Democratic Party of Wood County. Norm is survived by his wife of 66 years, Loretta; children - Ann (Jerry) Kirsling of Menomonie, Jeanne (Jim) Dean of Eau Claire, Glen of Madison, Gary (Mary Schroth) of Madison, Gordon (Anne Stauber) of Sheboygan, Mark of Marshfield, Lois of Eau Claire. Grandchildren Jared (Julia) Kirsling, Eric (Anna) Kirsling, Adam (Erin) Kirsling, Jason (Rebecca) Dean, Jeff (SheriAnn) Dean, Jennifer (Matthew) Nelson, Elliott (Ashley) Tritz, and Aaron Tritz. Great Grandchildren include Elizabeth and James Dean, Maxwell, Keara and Declan Dean, Genevieve and Dax Nelson, Alison and Nicholas Kirsling and Kellen Kirsling. Norm is also survived by brothers and sisters Marita Krause, Wisconsin Rapids, Susan (Jerry) Wirtz of Wisconsin Rapids, Delphine (Edward) Kaiser of Appleton, Ben of Pittsville, Sister Mary Hope (Corrine) of Elm Grove, Cyril of West Allis, Donald (Virginia) of Arpin, Harold of Cockeysville, Maryland, Ralph (Carrie) of Pittsville, Leland (Judith) of Wisconsin Rapids. Sisters-in-law Sandra Tritz of Missoula, MT and Kathleen Tritz of East Troy, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marvin and Kenneth Tritz and infant twin sisters; sisters-in-law Marian, Carol and Ruth Tritz and brother-in-law Joseph Krause. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 10:30am. 0 Rev. Samuel Martin will be officiating with music being provided by the St. Johns Funeral Choir accompanied by Suzanne Golden. Burial will be Gate of Heaven Cemetery with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at St. John Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9am until time of the service. Memorials may be designated to the American Parkinson Disease Association, or Childrens Miracle Network. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
