Obituary

Norbert Leo Varsho, 97, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Wells Nature View Assisted Living. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:30 am until service time at Our Lady of Peace Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Norbert was born on June 27, 1917 in Hewitt to Leo and Theresa (Ley) Varsho. He married Adelaide T. Henseler on September 8, 1945 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville, WI. Norbert had been employed at Berg Equipment Company in Marshfield from 1938 until 1965. He then worked at Modern of Marshfield from 1965 until 1998. He and his wife had volunteered delivering "Meals on Wheels" to the shut-ins for 26 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799, The Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Norby enjoyed woodworking, the Brewers, playing cards and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Adelaide and their children, Ralph (Maria) Varsho of Menomonie, Joan Yrios and Ronald (Julaine) Varsho, all of Marshfield, and Paul (Nancy) Varsho of Menomonie and a son-in-law, Bruce (Sally) Ackerman of Marshfield. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is further survived by half brothers, Leo Varsho, Andrew (Rosalyn) Varsho, Eugene Varsho, Richard (Dorothy) Varsho, Donald (Kris) Varsho, and sisters, Lucille (Daniel) Simpson, Rita (George) Piasecki, and Cecelia Dail. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Theresa Varsho, his stepmother, Mary Varsho, a daughter, Judy Ackerman, a son-in-law, Edward Yrios, a brother, Hilarius Varsho in infancy, a half brother, Joseph Varsho, half brothers-in-law, Clifford Hansen and Jesse Dail, sisters, Theresa Varsho in infancy, and Maryann (Clifford) Hansen and a half sister, Delores Varsho. Memorials may be designated in his name to Our Lady of Peace Parish, The House of the Dove or to the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
