Norbert E. Konopa, 96, Marshfield, died on Monday, October, 17, 2011 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital Palliative Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Celebrants of the Mass will be Rev. Robert Konopa, a son, Rev. Brian Konopa, a grandson and Rev. Donald Meuret, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace. Burial will take place in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Milladore. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 10:30 am on Thursday until service time at Our Lady of Peace Church. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Norbert was born on June 7, 1915 in Milladore, the son of Martin and Anna (Fait) Konopa. He married Martha A. Vanek on August 27, 1941 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore. The Konopas farmed in the Town of Carson south of Milladore until 1982. In 1991 they moved to Marshfield. On August 27 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a special Mass in their home with family and their son Fr. Bob Konopa and grandson, Fr. Brian Konopa as celebrants. He is survived by his wife, Martha, and their children, Marv (Judy) Konopa of Wisconsin Rapids, Don (Sandy) Konopa of San Diego, CA, Ron (Terry) Konopa of Marshfield, Carol (Rick) Newman of Marshfield, Wally (Joan) Konopa of Wisconsin Rapids, and Rev. Bob Konopa of Baton Rouge, LA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and four sisters, Sister Julian, Sister Columba, Sister Euphrasia, and Ludmilla Moscinski, and four brothers, Joe, Abdon, Frank, and Cyril Konopa.
