Norbert M. Felhofer, 85 of Marshfield passed away on Sunday evening, September 9, 2012 surrounded by his family at the House of The Dove under the care of Ministry Home Hospice. In keeping with Norbert's wishes a private memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Sam Martin as officiant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Norbert was born in town of McMillan, Marathon County on December 16, 1926 to John and Elizabeth (Merkel) Felhofer. He was united in marriage to Phyllis D. Essex May 14, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Norbert was employed as an accountant at Central Cheese and then as the comptroller at V & H until his retirement in 1990. He was a lifelong member at St. John's Catholic Church. His enjoyments in life were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was his focus. Norbert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis, children, John (Natalie) Felhofer of Little Chute, Jane (David) Cooper of Marshfield, Julie Felhofer of Marshfield and James (Diane) Felhofer of Stevens Point; five grandchildren, Adrienne (Scott) Banaszynski, Erin (Justin) Rendmeister, Megan (fiancée, Adam McKenna) Cooper, Jordan Felhofer and Ethan Felhofer. He is further survived by two sisters, Violet Wenzel of Marshfield and Doris Ripple of Menomonee Falls. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Eugene and two sisters Betty Jane Felhofer and Irene Luther.
