Nancy Louise Ziegler, 87, Pittsville, formerly of Auburn, Alabama passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
Nancy was born June 28, 1930 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Archie G. Parish and Alma L. Grawunder. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and later received her BA in Business Administration from Judson College in Marion, Alabama.
She met and married Dr. Charles V. Lair in Tuscaloosa, AL on March 16, 1957. They settled in Auburn when Dr. Lair was hired as the Director of Auburn University Clinical Psychology Program in 1966. Charles Lair died October 27, 1980. Nancy later married Dr. Paul F. Ziegler, a Chemistry Professor, on October 30, 1994. Paul died on October 17, 1998.
Nancy later retired as a profession administrator. While living in Alabama, she was a member of the Auburn First Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered and delivered meals. She also belonged to the EASE Board of Directors, Campus Club serving term as President, Newcomers Club, Garden Club, Democratic Club, and League of Women Voters where she served as local VP & President and also as State President. She was later presented with the Sue Flood Award. Nancy also was a member of the Auburn 2020 Committee: Housing and secretary of the Mental Health Board and various others.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Lair (Lee) McDonald of Pittsville, WI and step-children, Joan Kerr of Huntsville, AL and Steve Ziegler of Auburn, AL. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Nick (Stephanie) Graham of Hayden, AL and Cory Graham and Lindsey Graham both of Marshfield, WI and 4 great grandchildren: Zayden, Harper and Declan Graham of Hayden and Colt Graham of Marshfield.
She is further survived by her brother, Richard A. Parish of Clearwater, FL.
She was predeceased by her brothers, James G. Parish of St. Petersburg, FL and Donald Parish of Seminole, FL.
A graveside memorial service will be held at later date which will be announced early this summer. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville is assisting the family.
