Nancy L. Steivang, 87, Stanley, died on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Nancy was born on July 24, 1926 in Stanley, Wisconsin, to Lawrence and Laura (Oleson) Solie and was a 1944 graduate of Stanley High School. She was united in marriage to Melvin Steivang on September 10, 1949 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Stanley. Nancy and her husband owned and operated a Sears Catalog Store in Stanley from 1960 until 1988. She was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and an active member of its choir. She is survived by her husband, Melvin, and their children, Chris (Dennis) Anderson, Lynn (Jerry) Raether, Greg (Gloria) Steivang, all of Stanley, Tim (Sue) Steivang of Sparta, and Laura Marten of Ingleside, IL. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a nephew, Mark Dimmer.
