Obituary

Milden W. Schwanebeck died peacefully August 25, 2022 at home on his farm, under the loving care of family and St Croix Hospice. Milden was born September 8, 1931 the youngest child of Paul and Anna (Rennack) Schwanebeck. He was baptized, confirmed, and a lifetime member and servant of St Paul Lutheran Church where he held many offices. He graduated from Pittsville High School in 1949 and left his family farm to serve in the U.S. Marines in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1955. Returning from Korea, he woo'd and won the hand of his beautiful bride, Jean Urban, who survives him after 65 years of marriage. They moved home to the farm and made a wonderful family. Milden had a deep faith, took pride in his orchard, his herd and his fields. He loved working. He loved chain sawing. He loved traveling with his family, and has been to almost all the National Parks. He flew on the Veteran's Honor Flight. He especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family gathered weekly back to the farm. Milden is survived by his six children, daughters Amy (Jim) Noel, Julie (Fred) Hiles, Mary (Jim Leiser), Tammy (John) Farrell, and sons Steve (Peggy) and Thomas (Kristi), 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Kathleen and Marjory Urban, Loretta Ward and brother-in-law Howard Jespersen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Irma Winker, Lorraine Jesperson, brothers Lester and Ted, and son-in-law Mike Nash, brothers-in-law Joe (Manette), Ed and Jim Urban, sisters-in-law Anne (Elmer) Garrels, Louise (Eldon) Engleman and Ellen (Bob) Karloske.
