Melvin R. Tyrolt, 94, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield with Rev. Heather Brown officiating. The service will be streamed online at https://www.youtube.com/@faithlutheranchurchmarshfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Andres, Doug Andres, Dan Tyrolt, Kevin Rachu, Darren Rachu, and Steve Rachu. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #6352 - Stratford at the church. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield at a later date.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, January 23 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, WI, and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Melvin was born on November 23, 1931 in Marshfield to Paul and Laura (Ploman) Tyrolt. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1950 and went on to tech school and apprenticeship to become an IBEW Local #388 journeyman electrician. Melvin served in the United States National Guard from 1948-1957. On May 4, 1957 he was united in marriage to Joyce Dunbar at Evangelical Ebenezer Reform Church in Stratford.
He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church and he enjoyed the great outdoors with the family including; hunting, fishing, camping, and sunsets. He was a Packer and Brewer's fan, enjoyed local stock car races and being the top crew chief and video camera man for the Tyrolt Ice Racing team. Being with his family was most important.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, children, Pamela (Gary) Mills of Apple Valley, MN, Timothy Tyrolt of Marshfield, and Todd (Deborah) Tyrolt of Marshfield, grandchildren, Alexander (Alyson) Mills of Woodbury, MN, Tanner (Sarah) Tyrolt of Menomonie, and Lindsey Tyrolt of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews.
He is further survived by his sisters in law, Sharon Tyrolt and Phyllis Rachu.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gordon Tyrolt and Virgil Tyrolt, sister, Delores Andres, sister in law, Beverly Tyrolt, brother in law, Ervin Andres, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marshfield Medical cardiology, respiratory, and palliative care teams, as well as Don Schmude for his friendship and assistance in transporting Melvin to medical appointments.
