Melvin Neil Sherman, 78, Pittsville, died with family by his side on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Palliative Care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Living Hope Church, Neillsville with Pastor Steve Wentz officiating. Private burial will take place in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Melvin was born on November 19, 1935 in Breckenridge, Michigan to Glenn and Mildred (Teed) Sherman. Melvin was a member of Calvary Bible Church for 35 years, and an Awana leader for 30 years. He retired from Wisconsin Homes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and playing with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Joyce and daughters, Bonnie Jean (Dale) Hohenstein of Chili, Rhonda Sherman of Neillsville, Elaine Gossage of Michigan, and Louann Schachermeyer of Rochester Hills, MI, and a daughter-in-law, Kelley Hundemer of Brighton, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren, Denise, Jason (Denise), Bradley, Derrick, Jennifer, Nicole (Lance), Alex (Samantha), and Ross (Ashley) and great grandchildren, Caitlin, Marissa, Kaiden, Elizabeth, Olivia, Brooklyn, Violet, Alexis, Brielle, Zoey, and Lillian. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Bonnie Tiernan, a son, Richard Sherman, a daughter, Dawn Blanks and a grandson, Michael Howard. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
