Melvin F. Bandt, 92, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Rev. Jon Guenther will officiate. Burial will take place in Yolo Cemetery, Town of Fremont, Clark County. Melvin was born April 22, 1925, in the town of Fremont at home, the son of William and Ruth (Schilling) Bandt. He graduated from Granton High School. He married Margaret Bartsch on July 12, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Chili. Melvin enjoyed traveling on bus tours, fishing and his family. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Melvin is survived by his children, Orlin (Sally) Bandt of White Bear Lake, MN; Bonnie Zastrow of Marshfield; two grandchildren, Gregory (Angela) Bandt and Phillip (Sara) Bandt; six great-grandchildren; and his brother Willmar Bandt of Tomahawk. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Margaret; his parents; a grandson, Matthew Zastrow; son-In- Law Thomas Zastrow; brother Franklin Bandt.
