Obituary

Marjorie Mae Zdun, 100 was called home to her beloved Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie was born on April 9, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI and adopted by Stephen & Therese Lampe. From an early age, music filled her life and touched all who knew her. A lifelong resident of Pittsville, WI she attended Pleasant Corners & St. Joachim Grade School and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1944.

Faith, family and service were the hallmarks of her extraordinary life. After high school Marjorie worked at the Pittsville Post Office where she met the love of her life, Emil Zdun. Following a whirlwind romance they were united in marriage on August 19, 1950 at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Pittsville. So began 46 years working together: first on farms in Pittsville and Auburndale and later as owners of Pittsville Farmers' Feed & Supply. She had a truly profound faith in God and was an enthusiastic member of St. Joachim Church and the PCCW. She was also actively involved with the Pittsville Historical Society and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans.

Always active, Marjorie would be seen energetically riding her bicycle until age 81 or walking well into her 90's. Marjorie loved people and giving back to help others in need. Rarely home, she would always leave an individualized, cardboard note on the floor in her apartment so that friends and family knew where she had gone. When home you could hear her playing her accordion or piano.

However, her greatest delight stemmed from her role as mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother to her family. For decades as her family grew, she delighted in preparing and sharing Sunday chicken dinners, a tradition that spanned more than 32 consecutive years. Birthdays and special occasions were marked by a personalized phone call and her cherished, handwritten cards. Her warm smile and favorite farewell "keep lovin" became the mantra that inspired generations.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Therese (Sonny Bornstein) Zdun, Susan (Gregg Steffel) Zdun, Stephen (Deborah) Zdun, Thomas (JoAnn) Zdun, Evelyn (Thomas) Chaltry, James Zdun, Laura (David) Dolan, Margaret (Darrell) Smazal, Patrick (Carolyn) Zdun, and Sheila (Todd) DeDecker. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by daughter-in-law Sherry Zdun, brother Tom Newman and sister-in-law Lu Hein.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Emil Zdun, son Timothy Zdun, grandson Christopher Zdun, her parents Stephen and Therese Lampe, brothers Leo Lampe & Philip Hein, and birth mother Susan Wierl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 20th at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Pittsville with Father Leo Raphael officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am. Per Marjorie's request, lunch will be immediately following Mass. Interment will be held at St. Joachim parish cemetery following lunch.

The family wishes to thank family and friends for their loving support and generosity through these amazing years. A special thank you to the staff of St. Croix Hospice, Nekoosa Court Assisted Living and everyone who helped her in her life. In lieu of flowers, mass intentions can be sent to St. Joachim Church.
