Marion H. Wein, 98, Marshfield, died on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home, with Rev. Savarimuthu Selvaraj officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin, Keith, and Kory Wein, Dean Hauke, Kurt Wein and Kiley Wein. The visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until service time.
Marion was born on September 2, 1916 in Fond du Lac to Herman and Caroline (Thurke) Bahr. When she was a child her father died and her mother married Edwin Winters. She was a 1934 graduate of Goodrich High School and a 1939 graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. After her education she worked as a registered nurse at Holy Cross Hospital, Merrill and later at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. In 1952 she began working in the Pediatric Department at the Marshfield Clinic until her retirement in 1972.
She was united in marriage to Eugene M. Wein on August 24, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died on May 11, 1998.
Marion was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Big Spirit Lake in Rib Lake, and bird watching. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on the weekdays and watching golf and the Green Bay Packers on weekends.
She is survived by her children, James (Sheila) Wein of Marshfield, Carol (Roger) Hauke of Janesville, and Rick (Sheila) Wein of Marshfield. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Kevin Wein, Keith (Allison) Wein, Kory (Amy) Wein, Dean (Melanie) Hauke, Deanna (Michael) Fischer, Kimberly (Jim) Bloczynski, Kurt (Diane) Wein, Kiley Wein, Karey Truhlar, Christopher (Megan) Kaiser and Courtney (Jesse) Rohland and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 sisters and a brother, Adina King, and Howard Bahr, both of Fond du Lac, and Betty Bickford of Melbourne, FL.
She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, her husband, a sister Dorothy (Robert) Klosterman, a brother, Robert Winters and a brother-in-law, John King.
Memorials may be designated in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
