Obituary

Marion Helen Varsho, 81 of rural Auburndale died on Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013 at the House of The Dove in Marshfield with her family at her side. She was receiving care from Ministry Home Hospice Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt with Fr. Peter Raj officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with her grandsons Jeff Schneider, Danny Jo Varsho, Shawn Varsho, Brian Varsho, Alex Brostowitz and Cody Gehrke serving as active pallbearers and Robert Groskinsky, Jr and Richard Varsho as honorary pallbearers. Visitations will be from 5-7pm Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church from 9:30am until time of service. There will be a 6:15pm family rosary service at the funeral home on Sunday. Marion was born on February 15, 1932 in Hewitt to Michael and Sophie (Pankratz) Hartl. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Hewitt. On October 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leo J. Varsho at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in October 2012. After their marriage, they lived in a log cabin in Hewitt prior to moving to Marshfield, living on Blodgett Street for 10 years. They had farmed in the Marshfield area during the 1960's then moved to their present address to their hobby farm in Auburndale. She also loved taking trips with her Figi friends. Her most exciting time was when Marion and Leo took a western states trip with her sister Ardie and Bob Guldan. Marion enjoyed sewing, making pies, homemade noodles, gardening, bowling league and playing cards. She loved family. Her children and grandchildren were very important to her. She is survived by her husband Leo, children, Sue (Ken) Helmke of Green Bay, Mary (Norbert) Saba of Deerfield, Linda (Mike Phillips) Schneider of Marshfield, Daniel (Ruth) Varsho of Stratford, Michael (Juanita) Varsho of Arpin, Steven (Vickie) Varsho of Hewitt, Randall Varsho of Black Earth, Jeri (Robert) Groskinsky, Sr. of Marshfield, Vicki (Leonard) Brostowitz of Marshfield, Patrick Varsho of Marshfield, Gordon (Shirley) Varsho of Vesper, Sandra (Gary) Kosmicki of Arpin, Lee (Vicky) Varsho of Marshfield and Tracy (Bill) Gehrke of Arpin; 37 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Marion is further survived by three sisters Irene Wunrow of Pittsville, Ardell 'Ardie' Guldan of Wisconsin Rapids and Diane Mouradian of Hartford; one brother Ralph (Betty) Fredrick of Marshfield. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Charles, Scott and Keith, two grandchildren, Amanda Varsho and Luke Brostowitz; son-in-law Lloyd Bourenske, one sister Melda Kromanaker and four brothers-in-law, Don Kromanaker, LesterWunrow, Bob Guldan and Charles Mouradian.
