Marie A. Feirer, 87, Marshfield, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate and music will be provided by Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 12:00 pm until service time at Sacred Heart Church. Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Marie was born on August 8, 1924 in Halder, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Klujeske) Handrick and attended St. Patrick's Parochial School in Halder. Before her marriage she was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield. She married James W. Feirer on June 21, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died on May 29, 1984. Marie enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, knitting and making quilts. She provided child care for many children throughout her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, and the Auxiliary to the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. She is survived by seven children, Pat (Floyd) Zopfi of Stratford, Michael (Kathy) Feirer of Marshfield, Terrence (Stephanie Newsom) Feirer of Vallejo, CA, Paula Korger of Marshfield, William Feirer of Marshfield, Ellen (Peter) Christophersen of Clintonville, and Julie (Mark) Wenzel of Marshfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Shawn (Peggy) Feirer, Shane (Denise Woods) Feirer, Becky (Israel) Moreno-Garcia, Tad (Sara) Christophersen, Adam Christophersen, Jennifer Holt, James Wenzel, Jeremy Wenzel, and Nathan Wenzel and twelve great grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters, Grace Handrick, Germaine Hoeser, Mary (Dale) Mitchell, all of Marshfield, and Gloria (Pete) Peterson of Neenah. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Norbert and Laverne Handrick and two sisters, Joyce Spencer and Virginia Handrick.
