Marie M. Cherney, 91 of Auburndale died on Thursday evening, July 18, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Memorials services will be 6 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Schneider officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends from 5 p.m. Sunday until time of services at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Marie was born on June 14, 1922 in Stevens Point to John and Magdeline (Schultz) Bobrowski. She was united in marriage to Raymond J. Cherney on October 31, 1941 in Junction City. Ray died on August 26, 1991. After their marriage, they farmed in the Auburndale area and owned Ray's Cabinet and Supply in Milladore. She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper for their cabinet shop. In 1970, they moved to Ash Flat, Arkansas, where they enjoyed their retirement; traveling, square dancing and making frequent trips to visit family and friends. With the death of her husband in 1991, she returned to Auburndale area to live near her family. Marie enjoyed playing bingo, cards and also played in a polka band with Ray in her earlier years. She is survived by two children, June Larson-Cherney of Pornichet, France and Donald (Sheila) Cherney of Auburndale, two grandchildren, Samantha Cherney of Minneapolis and Jacob Cherney of Madison.
