Mariann M. Maki, 40, of Marshfield, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at home with her husband, Oskar at her side. She was born to Edwin and Donna Maki in Tomahawk, WI. Mariann grew up on a dairy farm in Brantwood and graduated from Prentice High School in 1988. She received her Bachelors and Masters in Education from UW-Stevens Point. Mariann loved teaching children and worked for the Spencer School District as a 4K teacher where she made many friends. Oskar and Mariann wed in 2003. They loved to travel and have been to many different countries. Mariann enjoyed gardening, movies, volleyball, line dancing, country music and spending time with family and friends. She was a lifetime Girl Scout member and Girl Scout leader in the Spencer Schools. Mariann is survived by her mother, Donna Maki , of Brantwood, her siblings Richard (Chris) Maki of Prior Lake, MN, Barbara (Steve) Johnson of Brown Deer, Karen (David) Foytik of Phillips, Bruce (Donna) Maki of Prentice, H. Brian (Kathy) Maki of Wausau, Mark (Patty) Maki of Wausau and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10am Monday, August 15, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will be in Clifford Finnish Cemetery in Brantwood, WI. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Maki and one niece and two nephews. Visitations will be from 4-7pm Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9am until time of the service at the church.
