Marian M. Newmier, 92, Marshfield, died on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Marian was born on March 22, 1921 in Stratford to Joseph and Gertrude (Nabbefeld) Newmier. She married Alvin Marcotte and they later divorced. She was employed as a nursing assistant in the Pediatrics Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital from 1956 until 1986 when she retired. She was a member of St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by a brother, Ray (Maggie) Newmier of Marshfield and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Norbert "Buddy" Newmier, a sister-in-law, Odele Newmier and 3 nephews, Jim, Steve and John Newmier. A memorial will be designated at a later date.
