Marialyce Peters, 89, Marshfield, died on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Kennedy Park Nursing Home, Schofield.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers officiating. Burial will take place in Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK, at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am until service time at Wesley United Methodist Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marialyce was born on January 25, 1925 in Yukon, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Lottye (Nespor) Florence. She married William J. Peters on June 5, 1944 and they later divorced.
Marialyce had been employed as a lab technician at the Marshfield Clinic. After her retirement she worked at Figi's in Marshfield, where she met many good friends.
Marialyce was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she played in the chime choir. She had a passion for music and sang in local choir groups. She enjoyed playing bridge. Marialyce was a woman of Strong heart, mind and soul. Her tiny frame was backed by a solid core of independence and commitment to her family, friends and faith. She will be missed wherever and whenever she made her presence felt: in the back church pew, in the choir, at the bridge table, at the holiday gatherings, beside the Christmas tree, and in the hearts and minds of her friends and family. She is survived by a daughter and 2 sons, Kathleen Isaacson Olson of Marshfield, James (Kay) Peters and Michael Peters, all of Superior. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Bart (Katrina) Isaacson of Weston and Lisa (Jim) Isaacson-Lewelling of Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is further survived by 8 great grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, a grandson Michael Isaacson on September 25, 2011 and a great granddaughter.
Family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Chindanoor Rajesh and his assistant Terri Thomas and all those who helped care for Marialyce over the last couple of years as she courageously battled her illness.
Memorials may be designated in her name to the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation (MCRF) for Alzheimer's research.
