Marguerite D. Blenker, 99, died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Strawberry Lane Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with a son, Rev. Ambrose Blenker, Rev. Samuel Martin and Rev. Charles Hiebl concelebrating. Burial will take place in St. Kilian's Cemetery, Blenker, next to her husband, John. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am on Monday until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marguerite was born on October 10, 1915 in Enderlin, North Dakota, to Ernst and Emily (Freiheit) Hofmann where she attended a country grade school and then graduated from high school. After her education she helped take care of people and did housework in different places.
She was united in marriage to John L. Blenker on November 15, 1934 in North Dakota. He died on October 25, 1986. After their marriage the Blenker's moved to Milan, Wisconsin where they worked on a farm. They bought their own farm during the depression and retired later to Marshfield.
Marguerite is survived by her children, Rev. Ambrose Blenker, of LaCrosse, Ellouise (Earl) Heil, of Mosinee, Gerald (Jean) Blenker, of Athens, Lucy Vaughan, of Prescott Valley, AZ, Kathleen Schug of Wisconsin Rapids, and Raymond Blenker of Madison. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Helen Doeling of North Dakota.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, 4 grandchildren, a son-in-law, Francis Vaughan, brothers, Theodore and Sonny, and a sister, Erna Rens.
Memorials may be designated in her name to St. John's Parish, Marshfield.
