Margie N. Habeck, 88, Spencer, died on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, with Rev. Sue Eidahl officiating. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at Zion Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Margie was born on June 20, 1926 in Kyle, Texas to Henry and Olivia (Petrosky) Richter, Jr.
She was united in marriage to Arnold O. Habeck on December 15, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. He died on April 5, 2003.
Margie was a graduate of Maxwell State Teachers College in Texas. She later received her Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. During her early years she taught in rural schools. She then was a long time 4th grade teacher at Madison Elementary School in Marshfield.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a Marathon County 4-H leader.
Margie is survived by a son, Guy (Kathie) Habeck of Cadott, a daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Lobe of Wisconsin Dells and a daughter-in-law, Linda Habeck of Corvallis, Montana. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Mark (Rebecca) Habeck, Carl and Ryan Habeck, John (April) Lobe, Stephanie Lobe, Christina (Dan) Lobe Johnston, 3 great granddaughters, Kaylie Hoskins-Lobe, daughter of Stephanie, Kaitlynne and Mackenzi, daughters of John and April Lobe, and 1 great grandson, Leif, son of Dan and Christina Johnston.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Arnold, a son, Gary, 2 brothers, Marvin and Fred Richter and a stepsister, Carol Golden.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
