Margaret M. Tews, 95 of Marshfield died on Friday evening, July 25, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Savarimuthu Selvalaj officiating. Cindy Penker along with Michael Gonering will provide the music for the services. Burial will be in Hillside Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield.
Visitations will be from 4-7pm Tuesday at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 am until service time. There will be a PCCW Rosary service at 4pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Margaret was born on March 4, 1919 in Big Stone City, SD to Frank and Virginia (Rodear) Jacobs. She was a 1938 graduate of Big Stone City High School. After her education, she moved to Ft. Lewis, WA and worked as a civil servant, moved to San Francisco and finally to Milwaukee. She moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1950 and was the deputy county clerk until her marriage to Melvin.
She was united in marriage to Melvin C. Tews on October 11, 1956. Melvin died on March 10, 1985.
After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Sherman, Clark County until retiring in 1976 and then moved to the Village of Spencer. Margaret moved to Cedar Rail after the death of Melvin and had lived there since.
She is survived by her daughter Ginger (Dan) Mrotek of Arpin, two grandsons Steven (Tasha) Mrotek of Marshfield and Michael Mrotek of Arpin. She is further survived by a great grandson Jasper Mrotek.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, two step daughters, Anola(Clarence) Hagedorn and Jeanne (Lyle) Henseler, four brothers and two sisters.
