Obituary

Margaret J. Hardesty, 80 of Arpin died on Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at11am Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Arpin with Pastor David Crail officiating. Burial will be in the Arpin Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Friday at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville and again on Saturday from 10am until the service time at the church. Margaret was born on August 2, 1932 in Barrington Township, IL to John and Myrtle (Ramer) Dorwaldt and raised on a farm in Cook County, IL. She was a 1950 graduate of Elgin High School. After her education, she worked at Country Companies Insurance in Wheaton, IL, the Elgin Watch Company and again for Country Companies Insurance in St. Charles, IL until July 1972. At this time they moved to the Arpin area to become dairy farmers. She was united in marriage to Oliver W. Hardesty, Jr on June 29, 1968 in Elgin, IL. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, going out to the park, visiting friends and Sunday night bowling league. She always loved her Coke and chocolate candy. During her lifetime, she was actively involved with the Ladys Bugs, Farm Bureau Women's Committee of Wood County and spent several years as the Arpin town clerk. Margaret is survived by her husband Oliver, children, Patricia (Walter) Porter of Elgin, IL David (Rose) Hardesty of Missoula, MT, Ronald (Kay) Hardesty of Arpin, John (Dorothy) Hardesty of Arpin and Sandra (Steven) Hoeft of Slinger; seven grandchildren, Mark Porter, Michelle Fornall, Jeff Hardesty, Aaron (Angie) Hardesty, Amanda Hardesty, Mikayla and Allison Hoeft and10 great grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister Jean (Gary) Allen of Elgin, IL, two brothers Carl Dorwaldt of CA and Donald (Sandra) Dorwaldt of Hampshire, IL, sister-in-law Helen (Ken) Graves of Rockford, IL and multiple nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Molly Hardesty. Memorials may be designated in memory of Margaret to the First Presbyterian Church in Arpin.
