Marcelyn Y. Sessions was called to her eternal home with her Savior on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the age of 87, while residing at Three Oaks Health Services in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

She was born in Marshall County, Minnesota on November 6, 1937, to Edwin Walford Swanson and Walberg Everginia Hegstrom. She graduated from Warren High School in 1955 and lived in various locations, including Warren, Minnesota; California; and Texas, before settling in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where she raised three children with her then-husband, Leroy Strand. Marcelyn worked for the State of Wisconsin for 24 years.

On September 16, 1982, she married Richard D. Sessions in Chippewa Falls, where they shared many years together until his passing. In January 2001, she moved to Marshfield to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Later, she married Clem Weis, and they lived together until her health declined.

Marcelyn is survived by her daughter, JoDee Singer of Durango, Colorado; her son, Aric (Diana) Strand of Marshfield; her granddaughters, Amy Peters of Cadott and Arika (Justin) Mueller of Marshfield; and three great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Walberg Swanson; son, Brian Strand; husband, Richard Sessions; brother, Donovan Swanson; son-in-law, Jeff Singer; sister, Vivian (Marvin) Rogholt; and nephews, Randy and Mark Rogholt.

There will be no formal services at this time.
