Obituary

Marcel Linzmeier, age 83, of Minocqua, formerly of Milladore, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Marcel was born on April 7, 1943, to Henry and Dorothea (Brost) Linzmeier. He grew up in Auburndale and attended St. Killian’s Catholic School in Blenker before graduating from Auburndale High School in 1961. In 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Brandl) Linzmeier. Together, they raised two children, Glenn (Kathleen) Linzmeier and Vicki (Michael) Worzella. They lived in Milladore until 1989, when they moved to Minocqua.

Marcel was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. Over the years, he worked at a local cheese factory, the Port Edwards Paper Mill, and Wyandotte Chemical. In 1967, he went into business with his brother at Wood Specialties. Later, Marcel and Nancy owned and operated the Lazy L Resort in Minocqua, where they spent 17 years welcoming guests and creating lasting memories. In 2006, they retired and moved to Pine Lake.

Known for his generosity, sense of humor, and willingness to help others, Marcel was a true handyman at heart. He was always working on a project and was never one to turn down an opportunity to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or neighbors.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling with his friend Scott, working on projects around the house, and playing spoons at family gatherings. He also enjoyed attending Mosinee High School volleyball games, where his granddaughter coached. Above all, Marcel cherished the time he spent with his family.

Family was the greatest source of pride and joy in Marcel’s life. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and especially enjoyed being present for their activities and celebrations. He also shared a special bond with his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Marcel is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; children Glenn (Kathleen) Linzmeier and Vicki (Michael) Worzella; grandchildren Andrea Worzella and Alexis (Tanner) Lindell; great-grandchild Carsyn; step-grandchildren Suzi and Brian; step-great-grandchildren Nick and Emily “Ollie”; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothea; sister Beverly; brothers Donald and Wallace; sisters-in-law Mary and Susie; and brother-in-law Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore on Wednesday, August 19th at 11:00 am. Father Biju will officiate. Marcel will be interred in the parish cemetery at a later date. The family welcomes relatives and friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 18th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City, and from 10am until Mass at church on Wednesday. Please watch for a Celebration of Marcel’s life to be scheduled later.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Marcel will be remembered for his humor, strong work ethic, generous spirit, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
