IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Madonna E.
Hinrichsen
October 24, 1927 – July 8, 2024
Madonna E. Hinrichsen, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2024.
Madonna was born on October 24, 1927 in Salix, Iowa to Harry and Alice (Lussier) Kauper. She completed her grade school and high school education in Clinton Iowa. She married Harold W. Hinrichsen on November 8, 1945 upon his return from service in WWII. They lived in many cities and states in their time together, mostly in Idaho, where they enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. Harold passed away on May 8, 1983.
Madonna worked as a nurse's aide, homemaker, wife, and mother to six children. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, photography and the process of developing the pictures she shot. In 1986, she moved back to Idaho and pursued her passion of photography. She was a member of the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Camera Club and the Spokane Washington Camera Club. A group of close friends traveled to many destinations in the western states looking for the "perfect shot" to enter in competitions displayed in county fairs and other venues. Her love for the mountains and the beauty of nature was her "focal point", therefore her life.
Madonna is survived by four of her children: Diana Hill of Tigard, OR, Christian "Dan" Hinrichsen of Sagle, ID, Dennis (Theresa) Hinrichsen of Eugene, OR and Lisa (Gregory) Kipp of Marshfield, WI. Two of her children passed away before her, daughter Marie (Darrel) Winkel of Hewitt, WI passed on December 13, 2016 and her son Jeffery (Marilyn) Hinrichsen of Merdian, Idaho passed on August 18, 2017. Her daughter-in-law Theresa Hinrichsen also passed away on November 10, 2017.
Madonna has 6 grandchildren: Shanna (Caleb) Randall of Tigard, OR, Jason (Jenny) Hill of Orlando, FL, Kimberli Winkel of Rockford, IL, Kristina (Dan) Holtzheimer of Auburndale, WI, Amanda (Scott) Schippers of Wausau, WI and Ryan Kipp of Marshfield, WI. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Simon and Dylan Randall, Violet and Lincoln Hill, Samuel and Christian Winkel, Laiden Holtzheimer, and Sophia and Amelia Schippers. Three of her great-granddaughters passed away before her, Isabelle and Anastasia Schippers and Angel Winkel.
Madonna is also survived by her brother, Roy (Mary) Kauper of Edgerton, WI and sister Bonnie (Joel) Sadler of Matthews, NC.
Preceded in death were her parents Harry and Alice Kauper, step-father Lloyd Kimmer, sisters: Lorraine (George) Winger, Evelyn (Robert) (Jerry) Simpson Mayer, brothers: Wesley (Arlene) Kimmer, Ed (Sandy) (Glenna) Kimmer, James (Becky) (Ginny) Kimmer, and Robert (Kathleen) Kimmer.
A special thank you to the staff at Stoney River and Heartland Hospice for the warm and compassionate care and family support.
